Political pressure against the TPP is working. In the run-up to the Ohio
primary - after Bernie Sanders upset Hillary Clinton in Michigan - Clinton
sharpened her opposition to the TPP.
As David Dayen noted at Salon: [1]
In a campaign event this weekend in Youngstown, Ohio, Clinton went further
than before in opposing the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). Instead of
stale bromides like wanting to make trade agreements "work for workers," she
took aim at a specific policy: the "rules of origin" for automobiles.

While many assume Clinton is simply pretending to oppose TPP until becoming
president, her complaint is not a generalized opposition that can easily be
walked back. She made a very specific claim that the rules of origin for
auto parts were inadequate and needed to be changed. It's technically
possible for her to go back on her word and sign TPP afterward, but getting
specific makes it that much harder.
Let's be clear: Seeking this change from the other 11 TPP member nations
would probably doom the entire deal.
From the point of view of U.S. foreign policy, arguably the most horrible
thing about the TPP is that, as Doctors Without Borders [MSF] put it, it
would be "the worst trade deal ever for access to medicines and will make
life-saving treatments unaffordable for those who need them most." [2] But
in terms of U.S. domestic politics, the heaviest weight pulling down the TPP
is its threat to U.S. manufacturing jobs.
Hillary has moved on the TPP, but Debbie Wasserman Schultz hasn't moved at
all. Add your voice to the growing chorus urging Debbie Wasserman Schultz to
