I suppose that when you're a senator, you need to develop a convenient
memory and an ability to suppress inconvenient truths. I do remember Bernie
sweetly saying to Hillary during one of their debates, that he didn't care
about, "her damn emails". But I have been slowly going through all of the
notes on her speeches to donors that were released by WikiLeaks, I think, as
pieces of emails. At any rate, Hillary, who according to Bernie  morphed
into a progressive when the Democratic Party establishment forced him to
drop his campaign for the Presidency, told many of her donors that she is in
favor of gas and oil fracking and that she is in favor of exporting the gas
and oil in order to compete with Russia because she wants to win against
Putin.  So I guess I agree with the folks at the rally who called Sanders a
sellout.

Miriam

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Five months after Bernie Sanders drew big crowds in New
Mexico to tout his own upstart presidential bid, Sanders was back in the
state today to campaign for his former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
In a roughly 30-minute speech to a crowd of more than a thousand people on
the University of New Mexico campus, Sanders said Clinton would, if elected,
address income inequality issues by pushing for a higher national minimum
wage and reduced tuition costs for middle-income families to send their
children to public universities.
He also repeatedly took aim at Donald Trump, the Republican Party's
presidential nominee, who was holding campaign events today in Colorado.
"We will not elect a president who is trying to divide us up," Sanders told
the crowd. "Our strength is our diversity."

However, a vocal contingent of protesters made their presence felt at
today's event, some brandishing signs in support of Libertarian nominee Gary
Johnson and at least one shouting "Bernie is a sell out!"

Sanders did not respond directly to the hecklers, who were frequently
drowned out by cheers from the crowd.

But he did touch on a slew of issues that made him popular with the
Democratic Party's progressive wing, including voter access to the polls and
climate change.

"If for no other reason that the future of this planet, which is a pretty
big reason, you should be voting for Hillary Clinton," Sanders said.

Clinton has not held any public campaign events in New Mexico during this
year's election cycle, but recent polls have shown her holding a lead in the
state, which was won by President Barack Obama, a Democrat, in 2008 and
2012.

Clinton narrowly defeated Sanders in New Mexico's June primary election,
though Sanders won Bernalillo County, the state's most populous county.

At least some of the protestors at today's rally were apparently still angry
at Democratic Party of New Mexico officials for their handling of the
state's primary election process, including the cancellation of a proposed
straw poll for presidential preference - between Clinton and Sanders - at
the party's pre-primary convention earlier this year.

The Republican Party of New Mexico cited the protests in a statement about
today's rally.

"Hillary Clinton's message of doubling down on the status quo may excite
DPNM party bosses, but the same cannot be said for the voters in New Mexico
and our country," state GOP spokesman Tucker Keene said.
