It's all in how you "spin it".
Madison Avenue has so messed with our language that we are confused
over the simplest of terms.
Take, Journalist. Here's a recent definition:
A journalist is someone employed to regularly engage in gathering,
processing, and disseminating
(activities) news and information (output) to serve the public
interest (social role). Breaking things down, to be employed means the
person’s primary
source of livelihood comes from journalistic activities, including the
gathering, processing, and disseminating of news and information. The
person’s role
is to serve the public welfare (e.g., reporting on issues central to
society’s well-being in matters of health, safety, order, morality,
economics, and
politics). As an output, news and information reflect not only
journalistic activities (e.g., processing in the form of analysis) but
also the ethical
principles (e.g., fairness) that govern those activities. Finally, the
person must engage in the journalistic activities on a regular basis
(the exact
meaning of regularity is open for debate).
Clear, huh?
But it doesn't matter, because that's not what the mass media is
pushing off on us for today's Journalist.
Today we who still read papers, are given the Op-Ed page as objective
news gathering and reporting.
We are conditioned to accept opinions as facts. In short, we've been
conditioned to be very careless and loose with our language.
When words have become so distorted, so twisted that their meaning no
longer has any meaning, we are open to being controlled and ultimately
enslaved.

Now here is good proof that Hillary Clinton is no friend of minority
populations unless you believe that the Clintons did not agree on the
welfare reform issue. Then there was the horribley wrongheaded crime bill
that helped to imprison large numbers of members of minority populations.
