Hi,

If anyone has BG Chess Challenge, maybe it would have a good suggestion.

Subject: [blind-chess] Has anyone tried a chess engine on WAC002?

Hi Puzzlers,

Has anyone tried K Chess, WinBoard, Fritz or some other engine on WAC002?

If you are interested you can try the following process.

1. Select and copy the FEN of the problem and paste it in M$ Notepad like
this:

8/
7p/
5k2/
5p2/
p1p2P2/
Pr1pPK2/
1P1R3P/
8
 b - - 0 1

2. Remove the carriage returns like below, but be sure to keep the spaces in
the last (9th) line:

8/7p/5k2/5p2/p1p2P2/Pr1pPK2/1P1R3P/8 b - - 0 1

3. Select "save as", set the name to "WAC001.fen", select file type as "All
files" and save.

4. Now load the problem into your chess engine and see what the computer
comes up with.

I tried it with an old version of WinBoard and it did not get the same
answer as is posted on the Mario Lang website. It came up with the same
solution as Chris for Black move 1 (as did I).

If anyone else tries this, let us know how this works.

Richard
