There is no limit as far as anyone knows. If you wanted to be really ridiculous, as well as spend a lot, you could buy a many GB hard drive. IBM microdrive was the one I knew about, but there are always changes to what's available. I also don't know what currently is the largest compact flash card on the market, but a google search for the size you would like should give you a good idea of what is available for what prices.

I reset mine in whith the flash card in it. I would never let the BN or anything else re-format my flash card.
Anyone know of a good course for large capacity flash cards like 512 or greater? How big a card can the BN handle?

Actually do most of my work off a CF card.
Could it be the particular card? I have always used Sandisk without a problem.

the Braille note has a annoying problem if the compact flash card is left in the unit during a power on or reset if previously the system is frozen to reformat the cf cards while booting. this was not always clearly communicated to new users. I nearly let the system reformat my cf card but chose the no option but it does not always give you the choice either. I am unaware if this is a problem in the pacmate or maestro or braille sense products. I always now unplug the cf before a boot of any kind if I can.

Bummer! I don't think this happens very often, and I doubt that the BN
actually ate the card's contents. Could the card have gotten zapped with
electricity? You're the first person I've ever heard say that their
flash card corrupted on them. I hope you can get back your class notes.
My old Braille 'n Speak 2000 once munched my linguistics notes--what a
disaster!
