That is also how I did it for my 3900.
Just install the driver from their site. K1000 will install everything else it
needs including the OCR engine.

The best way to install a plustek scanner is to not use the supplied disks but
to go get the executable installer from their site. That install is very easy
but getting it from the site is somewhat difficult.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] questions about installing the software for the
Plustek OptiBook 3900
Hello to all, I have some questions about installing the software for the
OpticBook 3900. I received my scanner this past Saturday. I also purchased
the latest K-1000 software. I was wondering if I needed to install the ABYYY
fine reader and the Presto Manager? It also installed a book dot and some
other things on my desktop. I also don’t think everything finished installing
because after I answered No to the question about wanting to continue with my
Epson services (Epson is our printer) the program said Wait a Moment and after
30 minutes nothing still was occurring. So, needless to say I feel ignorant
and am stuck so I thought I’d write and ask for your recommendations. I
haven’t installed the K-1000 software yet but that’s what I will be using to
scan my documents and books. I would be willing to talk with someone off list
if you are willing if it’s easier. I am using a computer with Windows 10. My
previous computer was Windows Vista and I used the Plustech OptiBook 3800. It
seems like with the 3900, things are different? Thanks for any assistance. I
sincerely appreciate any help.
Sincerely,
Monica
