I am a little embarrassed to admit this but...
My wife and I have 6 kids. I have often called each of them by one of the
others' name. One day I even caught myself calling our youngest son by my
guide dog's name. Then I caught myself calling my guide dog by our youngest
son's name. I really felt dumb then. ;-))
One excuse might be that all of our kids names start with the letter D and
so does mine and my wife's name. Yes, I know, crazy! ;-))
