I thought of "beep" as iin when something beeps to warn you it needs
attention.  But these computer expressions usually stand for something that
is related,,, as in <bg> for big grin, <obtw> for oh, by the way, etc..
Shelley gave us the meaning, which is what I wanted, but I still wonder what
the letters stand for in computer jargon.

I thought it was a cross between a chirp and a yelp --
cheep, like a chicken, only she forgot the ch. An
expression like Yikes!  Only yikes is probably from my
generation. I figured maybe eep is this generation's
expression. (smile)
