[bksvol-discuss] copy/paste from Kurzweil -- white writing

Grace, Cindy and list,

I have encountered the white text issue when copying directly from kurzweil to programs like MS word or e-mail. Instead of using the control v paste command, try using the paste special option under the edit menu. I have to arrow down through the edit menu and hit enter on paste special since I'm not aware of a keyboard shortcut for it. Then there's a dialog box and hit enter on unformatted text. This will add the copied text and get rid of any font/color options and put the text in the same font as the document or mail message into which the text is pasted. I've also had the same problem with completely black text from Kurzweil.

re the missing info in your posts, as I long as I
know, which I now do, that the invisible writing will
show up when I hit reply, I can read the whole thing
whether I actually reply or not.

re the copyright--the catalog shows it as 1972, c
1961, which means, I'm sure, that the copyright is
1961. I suspect that whatever the first 15 pages (in
small roman numerals) are--probably a forward or
introduction--that material probably has a separate
copyright of 1972, but I'd use the 1961 copyright.

I checked both amazon and B&N, but neither had a copy
of the copyright page. Apparently the book is "much
enlarged and revised." The government copyright
office, which is supposed to be available after noon
on Sunday, isn't, so I'll check tomorrow afternoon.

When I get the book maybe it will have more
information. Merton is dead, so I don't know who
revised it or why the publisher doesn't have the
copyright--but Merton's copyright from 1961 probably
belongs to his estate.

Since we have time, unless you get the pages from
someone else,m you might send Gustavo a copy of the
copyright page and ask him how you should enter it. I
asked a couple of times and got answers both times,
but that was quite a while ago when he wasn't so busy.
Maybe Rui or Gerald or Carrie can ask for you if you
don't get a reply. smile

Exactly. I copied the isbn number from Kurzweil. I
should try to change the
default setting so that this doesn't happen again.
Sorry Cindy.
As far as the book it says that the copy right is
1961. But when I put the
isbn on bn.com it shows the copy right as 1972. So I
am a bit confused about
which copy right to put in.
