Dear Booksharian Friends, primarily scanners,
Here are some free books, some from a previous list and some new ones. I'll
mail any requests in order received and you don't owe anything for postage or
have to return the book or send me progress reports. I send them hoping they'll
make it all the way into the collection, but once a book is mailed I don't
track it.
Scanners are key here because for a long time we've had a serious shortage of
them. I'm always hoping the next new volunteer will be a scanner. Scanning has
advantages like you can listen to music, TV or an audio book while scanning and
you don't have to proofread the book and find the scannoes as that's the
proofreader's job. The books below are mostly nonfiction and are directed to
small special interest groups. They look pretty dry unless they interest you.
They don't necessarily my views. in fact many are opposite to my beliefs. But I
do believe in making all viewpoints available to readers. Unless mentioned
these books don't have difficult elements for scanning like illustrations,
irregular margins or sidebars. New refers to the condition of the book, not
when it 's copyrighted. Every book is a new or like new oversized paperback
unless otherwise mentioned.
Write to me off list and I'll pack up your requests.
My email address is: airadil@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
If you are interested in reading any of these books, feel free to let me know
on or off list. Often we're more motivated to scan and proof a book we know has
at least one interested reader in waiting.
1. Woman and Dualism: A Sociology of Knowledge and Analysis by Lynda M.
Glennon, 250 pgs very straight forward, easy to scan text with only 3 pages of

4. In Search of Unity, by Edward Dobson 156 pages core text, about unity for

earning money and stuff. Page numbers are in the margins beside the text which
can be problematic.
9. How to Talk Jewish Jackie Mason, 136, words alphabetical. The first letter
of each new definition is large and double drawn so it might complicate things,
The definitions are like little one half to a whole page essays, My personal
comment, looks like a fun read though I'm not Jewish. I'd be willing to help
fix those lines affected by the large capitals.

care.
16. The Women Who Walked Through Fire: Women's fantasy and Science Fiction Vol.
2 Edited by Susanna J. Sturgis, 275 pages, In a pinch Evan and I could take
care of this but we'd rather pass it on. We know there's a demand for science

26. Warrior, There Will be War, created by Jerry E. Pournelle, SF, 364 pages,
The book is old so it might scan more easily if you take out the pages as you

out easily.

mass market pages.
28. How to Handle Pressure: Insights from an eminent psychologist and his wife
by Ruth Clyde and Ruth Narromore, 174 pages of a good quality mass market size
paperback. the only difficult detail I see is large chapter numbers that merge
with the titles and what might be a little difficult table of contents format.
If you choose this book I could email you the table of contents which would
then help you put the chapter titles in correctly. All other formatting is easy.

dialogues, layout might get scrambled as names are off to the side by
themselves with their quotes opposite.
36. Desperately Seeking Humor, by Virginia L. Minick, 208 pages, A substitute
teacher tells several satirical tales, easy scan. If there are no takers I
might ask Evan to scan this for me, but I was so happy teaching I'm not sure if
the satire might make me sad. I'd want to sample a tale. Not valuable but is
autographed by the author.
37. Crisis, Absolutism, Revolution Europe from 1848 through 1791 by Raymond
Brin, 275, serious history text.
I hope there will be some takers. Your requests will be confidential. If there

Always with love,
