Sadly, none of the office look-alikes on linux are fully compatible with MS Office, so there are quirks to using them for proofing for bookshare. The one I have the most experience with is LibreOffice. What it lacks is the ability to convert MS Word section breaks to page breaks. Many OCR programs put in section breaks instead of page breaks. Those who submit scans should do this conversion, but new scanners often do not even know their program is putting in section breaks instead of page breaks. Another problem with LibreOffice is that sometimes it converts page breaks that are followed by a paragraph marker to special page breaks that contain the paragraph marker as part of the page break. When I was doing proofing using my work computer which only has linux and LibreOffice I would send the files to my home computer and use MS Office to convert the special page breaks to regular page breaks before submitting to bookshare. Still, from what I have heard LibreOffice is the best, at least among the free programs.
