Hi all,

Actually, Nimit your directions are very good, and it doesn't matter which screen reader he's using. You gave program specific commands. These are separate from screen reader commands, and they work no matter if you're using Jaws or WE or System Access or NVDA or Nova or Cobra.

It's hard sometimes to know which type of commands you're using because as a person who is blind, we all use three kinds of commands: Windows commands, screen reader commands and then, program specific commands. It does get confusing, but if you try to separate them a little bit, then you can help others better because you can give them information without worrying bout their screen reader. Sometimes, you may have to ask which screen reader somebody is using because the commands they need are indeed screen reader specific In this case, you gave a great answer that was just what was needed and makes it possible for him to use your instructions no matter what adaptive software he has.
