Thanks for the tip ... with me being new to doing this I can use all the
advice I can get from whoever's willing to give it smile. So far there
haven't been too many errors and those that did pop up I've managed to fix
about 99 percent of them, other than the occasional word I couldn't figure
out what it was supposed to be so I just left it. Overall it's a good scan
though so whoever scanned it did a good job on it. I think it was one of
Laura's and if I remember right I think she's on this list. I'm working my
way through it and I read quite a bit of it earlier today. To my way of
thinking if you're going to take the trouble of downloading something and
making sure it's acceptable then you need to read it to make sure it's
readable by someone else ... but that's just me. That's how I'm able to
fix what few errors I've found in this book is to read it through myself
and fix them and save the changes every once in a while so I don't lose the
work. I'll probably read a little more before I go to bed too so hopefully
I can get it done before Tuesday, which would be a week since I downloaded it.

Someone else might grab it before you have a chance to and you'll lose all the work you did on it, unless the person who got it happens to be on this list and you can ask them to release it, but there are quite a few volunteers not on the list, so they may never know. MissWings, welcome to the list. (smile) There are a lot of good books waiting for a validater that are in rtf format. What types of books do you like to read? By the way,you're not the only person here who doesn't have Openbook or Kurzweil. We need people like you who enjoy reading and have Microsoft Word. Without our validaters like you, all the books that come in will just sit there collecting dust, and the system would grind to a halt. Each volunteer does something important in the book approval process. Who is more important... the cow that gives milk, or the farmer who milks the cow? Both of them are since one can't fully do the job without the other. (smile) So please know that you are needed here and that your work will make a difference.
