Current news articles reveal that infamous Bay Area media mo-ghoul Saul Zaentz (Fantasy Records, producer of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest movie, and subject of John Fogerty's satirical song "Zaentz Can't Dance" - his production company "Middle Earth Enterprises" owns liscensing rights to "The Hobbit" name (link to article): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2114365/Hobbit-pub-Southampton-sued-Hollywood-giant-Middle-earth-Enterprises-name.html?ito=feeds-newsxml and is suing a small pub in England which had taken the name years ago. Perhaps this is all part of the onslaught of legal broom swishing being done to clear the decks for the big movie release later in December.
