From Jim's BeneBlog today...... "Thursday is World Usability Day, and I'll be giving a on-line session entitled Technology Social Entrepreneurship and Accessibility of Web Services <http://www.accessonmainstreet.net/world-usability-day-accessibility-cha nnel/technology-social-entrepreneurship-and-accessibility-of-web-service s/> at 20:10 GMT, or 12:10pm PST. I never have done such an event, so I'm looking forward to trying it out!" Description of the Presentation: Jim Fruchterman will be talking about his efforts to deliver accessibility through web services. He will present Bookshare.org, an accessible web site for people with print disabilities for delivering books and newspapers in large print, audio and Braille forms. Also discussed will be the accessibility challenges of some of the commercial sites delivering book content, such as Amazon.com, Google and Yahoo!/Open Content Alliance, and challenges around electronic books. Electronic content should make accessibility simple, yet it often falls short because of lack of understanding or overdone digital rights management concerns.
