yep it is a bug with Kurzweil and with bookshare. I always open my files in MS word and then save them before uploading them. Why i don't know. And what is more stranger is that the Braillenote has no problem reading the files even if i straightly send them from Kurzweil to it. Shelley L. Rhodes B.S. I'm having an odd problem and think I must be doing something wrong. Can someone hear please set me straight? I have had this problem with 4 validations now, so it seems to be a pattern and not a fluke. I load rtf files in Kurzweil, do a rank spelling and remove scannos, and save the file. However, when I try to upload it to step 2 on Bookshare, I get an error message saying that it's an invalid rtf file. So then I open Wordpad with the file and save it. I don't modify it in any way; I just save it with Wordpad. Now Bookshare accepts the file without complaint. This has happened with all 4 books I have validated with K1000 so far. Does anyone know what is going on here?
