Robert, I'd help if I could, but I don't know the answers to your questions. I use a norma brightness with Fine Reader 5 Sprint and get good scans, but I know, depending onw hat you're scanning, some people have mentioned using gray scale. I tried that once of twice but it was slower and I didn't see any difference. I know nothing about screen readers and am just writing so you won't feel ignored. smile The main thing to get a good scan that I know is to press down the book (with hand, not cover--I think the scanner cover isjust to keep the platen clean when it's not being used), especially at the binding. For the rest, hopefully someonewho knows something will answer you. If no one does, it's because no one feels he/she can be of help. You might try writing directly to Gerald or Jake if you don't hear something from the list in a day or two. Cindy Hopefully other people will. smile. If you don't get an answer on the list, > I posted this question about three times and either > my email is acting up or nobody feels like answering > it. So, I'm gonna try again and, if the books I > submit this week don't come out right, well, I did > try. I have a copy of fine reader 8, and > a. The best settings to use for scanning books, i.e > brightness, paper size, bpi, etc. Thanks and I hope > either this gets through or somebody feels like > answering it.
