FWIW, Judy, my browser (Safari) is not set to clear cache on closing, but it
does matter whether I close the tab or window. Not sure why, but that is the
solution on my computer to get the updated status applied. Every browser
behaves differently it appears. Closing the tab or window cannot hurt
anything, but in my case, produces the desired result.

Really good advice, Valerie, on checking the book history. However, just to
clarify--closing the browser window doesn't make one whit of difference as to
whether or not the renewal link changes, unless you're suggesting that
because for some people it clears their browser's cache and makes the
bookshare page reload properly on their computer. smile.

That feature has been misbehaving for probably a year now. If you have the
time, you can click on the book, then check the book history, and if it says
renewed and today's date, you are good even though it looks like you are
not. Generally speaking if you close the browser window after having check
the book history and then go back, most of the time the renewal link is
gone. Very frustrating but doesn't appear that it's going to be fixed
anytime soon.
Hope that helps!
Thanks!
