Hi Carlos,

As Amber has indicated, RTF is the prefered file format for submission to BookShare. Yes, some literature on the site indicates otherwise, but it hasn't ever been updated and this preference has been in place for more than 2 years now.

BTW Getting an 800MB file to upload before the BookShare server timed out your connection would be quite a miracle. BookShare automatically logs users out after half an hour of inactivity, that is no new pages were loaded. Some of the most highspeed connections would be pressed to get that file on the system.

Welcome as a volunteer.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Question about book submissions

Hi. I am still having difficulty in submitting a book. I scanned a book in
the Kurzweil 1000 with the feature to keep the images enabled. However,
this has made for a very large file. It is around 800 mb even after it has
been zipped. My question is, is it necessary for me to submit this book
with all of its images or can I elimate the images to reduce the file size
of this book. Thanks.
