I don't know. I am not doing this lately, but when I first started proofreading I downloaded several books at a time and examined them to decide which one I wanted to proofread and then released all but one. It might have looked like I was downloading to just collect books from the checkout list, but I was actually deleting the ones I released immediately.

I would be wary about people wanting to volunteer solely to read books. I
have a volunteer lately who is checking out and shortly after releasing my
submissions. It makes me wonder if the person is just doing it to download
books without being a member.
