[bksvol-discuss] Problem with Pages in .rtf

I hope maybe someone can help me.

I mentioned having extra blank pages in Tar Baby, the book I am attempting to
validate in openbook.

I then mentioned that the person who scanned the book scanned a number of the
pages with column recognition on, but not in two-page mode.

I was able to find the places where almost all of the page breaks should occur
and added them appropriately. I was missing only three page breaks.

I removed all headers, put page numbers at the top with a return before and
after each page number, and I put a return at the bottom of every page.

When I completed the validating, the openbook file had three hundred and
sixteen pages.

When I saved the ark file as a .rtf file, the file has 354 pages.

It seems like some of the pages have inserted an extra page where I added the
return at the bottom of the page, but that is not true on every page, obviously.

I did not have this problem when I validated my first book.

Can anyone give me any idea how to resolve this problem. I have not done any
elaborate editing in word, and I relied on Openbook to edit properly.

Any help would be appreciated.
