I think that the related ISBN is there when it is a publisher quality addition and the version that the publisher submitted is the eBook version. The eBook would have its own ISBN and the print version's ISBN is the related ISBN. I think that means that you are out of luck unless your copy contains image descriptions. But it might be a good idea to check with the Bookshare staff just to be absolutely sure.

telepathy? — in ancient astronauts? — in the Bermuda triangle? — in life after

No, I reply. No, no, no, no, and again no.
One person recently, goaded into desperation by the litany of unrelieved negation, burst
out "Don't you believe in anything?"
Yes", I said. "I believe in evidence. I believe in observation, measurement,
and reasoning, confirmed by independent observers. I'll believe anything, no matter how
wild and ridiculous, if there is evidence for it. The wilder and more ridiculous
something is, however, the firmer and more solid the evidence will have to be.”

Hi all,

I have a book, already scanned that I thought was not already in the bookshare library, but now I am not sure. The book that I am interested may be

https://www.bookshare.org/browse/book/1241959

I have "The New Space Opera" by edited by Gardner Dozois and Jonathan Strahan. A few months ago, I thought I checked the library and that book was not in it. Now, I find "The New Space Opera 2" listed. (the link at the beginning of this email). But the cover picture is for the volume 1 that I have and in the book description in addition to the ISBN it says "related ISBN." The first ISBN is not for my book, but the second "related ISBN" is. Sometimes two ISBNs means there is one for the hardcover and one for the paperback, or it could be the copy in the library really is volume 2, and the related ISBN is to indicate there is also a volume 1. I have the paperback, volume 1. Since I am not a bookshare member, I cannot do the simple thing of downloading the book and checking if it is the same as mine. Could someone do that for me? The table of contents is:

INTRODUCTION... 1

SAVING TIAMAAT - Gwyneth Jones... 6

VERTHANDI'S RING - Ian McDonald... 24

HATCH - Robert Reed... 39

WINNING PEACE - Paul J. McAuley... 66

GLORY - Greg Egan... 88

MAELSTROM - Kage Baker... 113

BLESSED BY AN ANGEL - Peter E Hamilton... 143

WHO'S AFRAID OF WOLF 359? - Ken Macleod... 158

THE VALLEY OF THE GARDENS - Tony Daniel... 170

DIVIDING THE SUSTAIN - James Patrick Kelly... 202

MINLA'S FLOWERS - Alastair Reynolds... 234

SPLINTERS OF GLASS - Mary Rosenblum... 291

REMEMBRANCE - Stephen Baxter... 316

THE EMPEROR AND THE MAULA - Robert Silverberg... 334

THE WORM TURNS - Gregory Benford... 379

SEND THEM FLOWERS - Walter Jon Williams... 401

ART OF WAR - Nancy Kress... 436

MUSE OF FIRE - Dan Simmons... 454

If the stories in the book in the library are different, it must really be the second volume. If the stories are the same then I will not submit my copy.

If someone could help...

Thanks,

Misha
