Lisa,

Yes, the Braille Lite M20 and M40 both have the ability to scroll automatically
with the use of the ER chord. But please, please, *please* look into your
options before making the decision to go with a Braille Lite Millennium! The
Braille Note and Braille Note PK offer more functionality than the Braille Lite
M20, at a comparable price. The Braille Note is slightly larger but offers a
fairly stable OS, Internet connectivity, MP3 playback, Bookshare decryption, an
Outlook-style planner that can be synchroniced with Outlook, and a host of
other useful features. The Braille Note PK is smaller and lighter than the M20
but just as full-featured; offers Internet connectivity and wireless
capability; and has some other enhancements over the original Braille Note. I
can't speak for this machine's stability, so you might want to do further
research and find someone who can.

Freedom Scientific itself offers the PAC-Mate line, which is bulkier but more
robust in terms of features than the M20. Check with FS at 800-444-4443 to
determine if PAC-Mates can scroll: I think they can. Both the FS PacMate and
the Braille Note support compact flash cards more seamlessly than the Braille
Lite, offer more full-featured software, and can be upgraded to include GPS
functionality.

Unless you are investing in the Braille Lite because of its sheer simplicity at
the expense of extra features, I would encourage you to spend roughly the same
amount of money on a product that does more.

Best,
Chancey
