  Dear Grace,

Bookshare has Silent Night by Sue Thomas, the deaf lady who was hired by the
FBI and who eventually read lips for them to gather evidence. Her story is
fascinating. She describes the sudden loss of her hearing as a toddler, her
parents' panicked scramble to find a cure, her sometimes difficult education to
learn speech, her difficulties both socially and academically in regular
classes from elementary school through college and her highs and very lows
seeking social acceptance, managing her finances and keeping the peace with her
family.

  Good luck with your project.

  Always with love,

  Lissi

    Hi Everyone:

I need to read a an autobiography about a person with a disability for my
class. I am reading Lucky man by Michael J. Fox and I need another book to
compare and contrast.
    Does anyone have suggestions?

    Thanks.
