Roger, if you give me your address I'll check the site and see if I can
find one near you ( though I don't know if people who have them register
at the site; if they ordered one from the place there' probably be an
address
I found that some people who have them do register with the site. I also
found this site that tells how you can start your own Little free library
and it has with pictures of a couple ( the one with the hinged door looks l
ike the one near me in Del Mar.

was kind enough to put out a bench on which I sat to look through the
books. guess there must have been 2 boxes, one inside the other -- or
maybe they are side by side? I haven't gone to that one lately

couple of tries to get it to work, and even then it's a pain to get the
actual address. They put little graphic pins on a map. Then you have to
hover your mouse over each pin and read a popup window that it won't let
you copy to get each address. Geez.

For those of you who were not here back then or have forgotten it the
Little Free Library is a network of boxes, cabinets or other containers in
public places that contain books. One may add books to it or take books
from it and it is for free. It could be a source of books for scanning for
Bookshare. When she first told us about it I took a look at the web site
and found that there was a location in my city, but it was in a rather
out-of-the-way place for either me or for anyone who gives me rides. I just
abandoned the web site and did not revisit it again until today. Even if
the location was inconvenient for me back then, though, I was still able to
use their locator to find the address. I don't remember now how the locator
worked, but it was usable. Now it seems that I can't use that feature. Now
one does a search and a map comes up. Like so many other web sites they
just seem to assume that anyone who uses their service can see. I tried
entering my ZIP code and no results came up. It actually told me that there
were no results and that is how I know that my second attempt did work even
if I couldn't read it. I then tried to search for the nearest location to
my city and did not get a notification of no results, but I suppose a
graphical map came up that was totally inaccessible to me. So I am
wondering if someone on this list who is sighted could go to
LittleFreeLibrary.org and find out for me what the closest location to
Charleston, West Virginia might be. It might very well still be
inconvenient to me, but I thought that since a few years had passed that it
might be worth looking again.
