[bksvol-discuss] Re: Learning a reading knowledge of another language

Congratulations. The French was easy for me which came as a surprise but the
knowledge lasted in my memory only long enough to pass the exam. What little I
retained was from French cinema. Those exams are not usually easy so it shows
how hard you worked. Good luck with school.

Latin has much more connection with all the romance languages so I am sure you
will get more out of it but French should be a lot easier just remember that a
word in French may look like one is Spanish but it won't necessarily mean the
same. The cognates are not necessarily true. But you can usually guess by the
context so you should not have much of a problem.

Enjoy Grad school. Not too many courses you don't want and a lot you will love
so it can be great fun.

Amy
