I honestly don't understand why this is classified as young adult fiction. 
The story is a powerful one, but not something I think younger teens should 
be reading.

Cindy, I realize that and thought afterward that my reply might have been
misunderstood. Instead of the words "wanted to validate" I should have said
"willing to validate." How many people do you suppose will read this book
now just to see what we're talking about. You might be interested to know
that when I got this book from the library, the librarian questioned whether
I really wanted it. When I returned the book, she and I both agreed that we
could not understand why this book was promoted for young adults. Jill
