Robert, Interesting. I wasn't aware that NLS had a list of the bestsellers that they are working on. Looks like it may be brand new since there's no 2006 info. Also looks like the February info won't be out until March. If that's the case, though, Plum Lovin' should have been on their web page. You wanted to see how Bookshare is doing compared to NLS. Here's a list of the last 9 number 1 NYT Hardcover Fiction bestsellers. If you check NLS's web page, you'll see that the first 7 of them are on it, which means that none were available on NLS at the time they created the web page. The last 2 aren't available from NLS either. They just didn't make the page, probably because of how recently they made NYT's bestseller list. BTW, the dates in my list are the dates they first appeared at #1. The dates are a bit misleading, though, since the lists appear on NYT's website a week prior to the actual publication date. For example, the March 4 lists will be on their website on Saturday. 40413 Rise and Shine by Anna Quindlen September 17, 2006 40842 The Book of Fate by Brad Melzer September 24, 2006 40972 The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield October 1, 2006 40841 For One More Day by Mitch Albom October 15, 2006 41486 Lisey's Story by Stephen King November 12, 2006 40879 Dear John by Nicholas Sparks November 19, 2006 41300 Cross by James Patterson December 3, 2006 41684 Plum Lovin' by Janet Evanovich January 28, 2007 Step on a Crack by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge February 25, 2007 As you can see, Bookshare has all but the current #1 NYT Hardcover Fiction bestseller in the collection, and NLS is still working on books from September. BTW, Plum Lovin' made it into Bookshare's collection on Jan. 16, 4 days before it hit the bestseller list. Note that that's 4 days before the bestselelr list was posted on NYT's website, not 4 days before the publication date that NYT puts on its web page. I think Bookshare compares extremely well, myself. Gerald http://www.loc.gov/nls/networkdocs/bestsellers/index.html
