Evan, if you were reading his sample with jaws 2018, the presentation of
page breaks does not work, at least on our systems.

Hello Kristin,
I'm afraid I'm not completely clear as to where the scene change is in your
example.
However, I am sure that you never use two page breaks to indicate a scene
change. Page breaks are only for actual pages in the book, one page, one
page break. That is the only thing they are for.
If you are sure you have a scene change, always use the three asterisks.
Oftentimes, at least with my OCR software, there's a blank line to indicate
a scene change. If three stars are not used, many times some other symbol,
or even some kind of graphic is used to indicate scene changes, which may
result in junk characters. But often it's just a blank line. Since Bookshare
eliminates blank lines, if you encounter a blank line in the middle of a
page, and it appears, from the context, that you have a scene change, then
just insert the three stars.

Hopefully everyone is having a great day here at bookshare! Say, I am
working on The PROTECTORS: Sweet Caroline's Keeper, By BEVERLY BARTON, and I
have a question in regards to placing stars around various seene changes? I
was wondering if I need to place some stars around the different parts of
the text and I will provide an example of what I am refering to here. Right
now there is only one spot in the novel that has the * * * to indocate that
something different is happening otherwise it is indocated with two page
breaks and I was wondering if I should either place the * * * around it or
put the page breaks around them. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Okay here's the example from the book of: Totally fulfilled.
"Yeah, thanks, Art," Gavin Robbins said. He was too close to achieving his
goals to allow anyone or anything to interfere at this late date. Wolfe
remained by the door of studio two, quiet and out of the way, keeping watch
while Caroline worked.
Okay everyone what I have provided is the start of where I think the * * *
should go and then where I think the next * * * should be if that's what I
am suppose to be doing here. Like I stated earlier the only way I can tell
there is something different is that there appears two page breaks and I
just wanted to make sure I was doing this correctly. Thanks for all of your
