Shelly,

There are a few sites that still have the Epson 1660 available. Ask your
friend to check the web. I don't have specific information but one of our
students just reported last week that he purchased one for $59.95 +
shipping.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Good scanners

My friend of the above message is also wondering what would be a good
scanner for OCR but in a moderate price range. He is just looking for
something simple to use, has a up to date laptop to connect it to and
looking for options. He will probably be using Fine Reader 7 by Abby as his
OCr. Can anyone recommend any good scanners in a moderate price range or
where to purchase them?

Thanks.
