Hi Lisa,
If the references come in the middle of a page, please leave them there.
You'll know when footnote notations (the information about where a footnote
came from) should be at the end of a page, because they'll be there already.
Sometimes these notations interrupt the flow of text and that is fine. They
are placed so as to appear at the bottoms of pages when that's where the
publisher or author wanted them there. If the text talks about another work
within the reading, please don't move that.

Do you mean the numbered footnotes that are located within the body of text?
Or are you referrring to things like sidebars that sometimes interrupt the
text?
If you mean numbered footnotes, please leave them where you find them.
Please ask more specifically if that's not what you meant.
