Sorry this is late--I've been out of town.

The Explorations in Creative Writing Group met on August 9, 2008, at 9
a.m. Pacific, noon Eastern, in the Friends of Bookshare classroom.

There were 4 pieces shared, which will be posted in the classroom's
browser. The following discussion questions were discussed following
each piece:
Questions for Discussion

1) Was the story believeable?
2) What details in the story made it believeable (or not)?
3) What everyday details were described in interesting new ways?
        4) What was the author's purpose?

The topics for the week follow:

Changing one's view might also change how one writes about details.
For example, everything from an airplane looks smaller, the view
through a magnifying glass or microscope looks larger, etc. This week,
we'll write about common things from different viewpoints &
perspectives. Write about time travel, something from a different
viewpoint, e.g., looking through a magnifying glass, looking at things
through the viewpoint of not having language to describe what's being
looked at, e.g., a sighted person born into a world where everyone is
blind, the place is isolated, & there is no language to describe the
phenomenon of sight, etc. However, anything is ok--a story you're
working on, or whatever.
