The way we understand it from a staff perspective is that the bksvols-discuss list is a discussion list meant as a place in which volunteers can discuss problems, get help, and support each other in their volunteer efforts. However, we realize that there is a need and interest for "off-topic" discussion somewhere (not related to volunteering). We are currently exploring ways to make this possible for everyone and not moderate it through Bookshare. An additional note: please remember that these lists are public. Anyone can join them and anyone can read the past messages as they are archived on the Freelists website automatically. We do our best to moderate the list and I am able to subscribe and unsubscribe people to the list, but we don't control content. This is just a general reminder to think about the personal details you are about to share before doing so.
