I took care of a lot of them by doing a find and replace for , " and
replacing it with ," and ditto for exclaimation.

Thanks though. I am afraid to do the same for periods, because sometimes
there is a period and then a left quote.

Thanks,

Lisa

yu might try doing a Find for space end quote, i.e.,
find " and replace with just the quote. Try doing only one or two before
doing a replace all

Hi friends,

I am proofing a book where the scanner inserted a space before every end
quote. I have looked at google books, and it is not supposed to be like
that. Is there any way to do a find and replace to delete all the spaces,
or do I have to do it manually?

Thanks,

Lisa
