Hi, Jane, if you are no longer a student, you will have to come up with
the money to pay for your subscription. If you can't afford to do that,
there are folks with credits who can donate them to somebody who can't
afford the yearly fee which is $50. I generally can pay for my
subscription and did so right from the start but you'll have to judge
whether you have the income to do that. If you happen to be a volunteer
who submits books via scanning to Bookshare, proofreads them or both,
every book that is entered into the collection gives you a credit of
$2.50 per book, ergo if you submit ten books and proofread ten books and
all are added to the collection, then you've paid for your subscription
for all intents and purposes. Does this help? Regards, Kim Friedman.
P.S.: Since I don't scan books, I'd have to proofread twenty books to
pay for my subscription. K.

You do. Almost as soon as I got the email confirming my subscription
had been activated, I opened up Read2Go and started searching for books.
And I couldn't stop. I'm not a student now, though. It won't matter?

Jane
