Dear Booksharian Friends,

The books prepared by us volunteers can get lost in the landslide of books being added every day. I don't have time to comb through them all. I'm going to describe some of the books I've checked in in hopes they'll find more readers, and, that more of us might be encouraged to do the same, and possibly to talk about them on the discussion list. In eight years of volunteering I've only heard from a handful of readers, but their feedback affects the books I choose and inspires me to keep doing my best.

A drop in the bucket is just water, but when you showcase your book, that single drop sparkles.

I'd like to post more messages like this one and will put "Book promo," followed by the name of the book so listers who aren't interested can easily spot these posts and delete them at a glance.

Willie, The Frog Prince is a 165 page kid's book with 20 quick-moving chapters about an eleven-year-old boy with ADD trying to please his critical dad and a new girl in his class. It's for elementary readers, but a delightful read for anyone who loves dogs and uplifting books with that quality I call heart.

Here are the short and long synopses.

Brief Synopsis

Eleven-year-old class clown Willie's father is upset with his low grades, carelessness and misbehaving dog Booboo. Trying to impress his new friend Maria and keep Booboo from being sent to the pound, Willie finds he can learn at school, fit in and be responsible despite his attention deficit disorder.

Complete Synopsis

[from inside dust jacket flaps]
"Eleven-year-old Willie Feldman has a hard time pleasing his perfectionist father. When he doesn't forget his chores or bring home poor grades because he has difficulty concentrating, his irrepressible dog Booboo gets him into trouble. It doesn't help that Dad is between jobs, with plenty of time to keep an eye on Willie. Then a new girl, Maria, turns up in school. For the first time, Willie has an urge to concentrate, as he seeks ways to impress her. But when they do become friends Willie realizes that Maria has more serious problems than he does: her father constantly moves the family around, and her mother, with her migraine headaches, is in bed most of the time. Can Willie find a way to help Maria out? With genuine warmth and humor, C. S. Adler creates a touching story of a boy who, to his surprise, proves himself to be as much of a prince as the fairy-tale frog."

Hope to be reading about more volunteer produced books here soon.

Always with love,

Lissi
