[bksvol-discuss] Another Question About Credits was Re: Re: The Bug Is Fixed

Hi, Lisa and all.

First, let me add to what others have said regarding this new credit policy for validators. This change is so welcome, especially for those of us who have been validating since the early days when we did way more than fifty cents worth of work. So Thank you, Bookshare staff. I'm so encouraged to see that communication is improving and that some of our ideas are being implemented at last.

Now on to my question:

I just checked my credits and I had a whopping $350. Now this is wonderful, but I doubt it's correct just yet. Is the $2.50 a retroactive change? By this I mean, will the amount of credits we've earned via the old system be converted to an amount under the new credit system? I had $35.00 credits under the 0.50 cent system, so how does this work? I guess I assumed the change would affect all books we validate after this date rather than being retroactive. Not that I'm arguing. <smiles> I've been slowly working my way to a subscription renewal since May, 2006, so suddenly having my subscription be magically earned is a great thing. But I don't want that subscription earned at the expense of Bookshare.

Lisa

Uh-oh. I think this may be like when the ATM (in our dreams) starts spewing out too much money. Some people are showing too many credits now (don't know
if that's the case with you Mickey).

So we're still tweaking. I'll send the all clear when it's fixed for real.
