I love proofreading science books, but I don't scan.

Occasionaly I see a book in the Bookshelf section of Science News that I
think would be nice to have in the collection. These are books that are
interesting but that don't include much math. I'm willing to buy them if
someone will scan and proofread them. However, since they are very
recent I wonder if they couldn't be obtained from the publishers. How
should I go about this?

Thanks,
John
