Hello Volunteers,
I'm bringing to you a project that needs volunteers interested in
researching and searching. With the huge influx of new books over the last
couple of years, we at Bookshare would like to expand and update some of our
Special Collections. I'm going to provide a list below of the Special
Collections which could use your help, and broad instructions about how to
complete the project regarding each Special Collection. Please let me know
if you are interested in working on any of these projects.
I'll note whether each project could benefit from the efforts of more than
one volunteer.
Some of these projects are very much more time consuming and research
intensive than others.
Please respond by replying publically to this note so that those of you
interested in possibly working together on projects can connect and send me
a single list of your combined work.
I'd appreciate it if these projects could be completed by the 7th of October
2011.

available on the Bookshare web site to locate books relevant to this
collection that Bookshare has in the entire collection, but that would
benefit this Special Collection, and aren't listed in the Special
Collectionn. Please make me a list of what you find including title,
author, and the web address on the Bookshare web site to the book
information page of each book that should be added to this collection.
This is definitely a project that might feel more manageable if more than
one person shared the work. If more than one person expresses interest,
please contact each other privately and decide as a group how you would like
to divide the work, then send me your combined results (without duplicates,
please).

Update the Banned Books to the 2000-2009 (currently 1990-2000).

This is a one-person project. I'd like the volunteer who takes it on to go
to the provided link, and make a list of books listed there that Bookshare
has and provide the web address for each book in the Bookshare collection,
please. Also, please keep a separate list of any that Bookshare doesn't have
so that we can consider acquiring them.
AFB Braille Bug Reading Club Favorites (I have no idea if the AFB site is
current)

This is another single-person project, I think. The link provided here has
several offshoot links to books in the Braille Reading Bug program. Please
check the Special Collection, and the link I've provided. Give me a list of
titles, authors, and web addresses of books that Bookshare has that are not
part of the Special Collection, and a list of books by title and author of
any books listed on the AFB site that Bookshare doesn't have so that we can
consider acquiring them for the Bookshare collection.
