that originally appeared in /The New Yorker/ magazine. The first of these,
"Irons in the Fire" concerns the life and times of a brand inspector -
where a "brand" in this instance is the kind of brand applied to cattle to
identify its owner.
The essay contains samples of different types of cattle brands which are
named but not necessarily otherwise described (see attached PDF). They are
relevant to the text (as examples of forging a brand, for instance).
My question is, what should I do with them? Should I attempt to describe
them? Should I mark the file as I submit it as something for the POET
volunteers to look at? Should I include the notification [Image] without
further description? Should I ignore them? Please advise.
