Spent Saturday trying to jump-start my 2005 Kentucky list. No great finds.
Seemed to always be exactly where the light was the worst. Here are the few
notables:

Lapland longspur. At least 50 mixed in with the horned larks in the fields
between Sassafras Ridge and Open Pond.

Greater white-fronted goose. One on ground and flyover of 30 or so birds at
Reelfoot, Long Point. Dozen shovelers were only waterfowl on the ground.
Thousands of snow geese in constant motion in intersecting V's high
overhead.

Red-breasted merganser. Counted 37 on Honker Lake in LBL.

Lesser black-backed gull. One adult above Ky. Dam.

No short-eared owls seen in short stop at Sinclair Unit of Peabody on the
way home.
