In addition to the omnipresent flock of 20 or so killdeers, the exposed mudflats at Jacobson Reservoir have also?been recently visited by: 1 spotted sandpiper (07/21), 2 semipalmated plovers (07/24). 3 (not so) solitary sandpipers (07/23, 07/24), 4 or more green herons (07/21-24). The water level is rising at the reservoir due to recent rains?and the expanse of mud may soon be much reduced. ? Frank Huggins Lexington, Fayette County ?
