The Ohio is rising again and with the rains recently and predicted I thought I
better check out Highland Creek Unit of the Sloughs WMA before it floods again.
Next I tried to get to Horseshoe Road slough but was not able to due to waters
over KY1574 where I had a Bufflehead.
While on my way back to pass Highland Creek Unit, I had about 60 Ring-billed
Gulls in a muddy field along KY1542 in Union Co.
Then I did the Sauerheber Unit of the Sloughs WMA. I covered Shorebird Unit
(water was high again with no ducks or shorebirds), Hardy Slough south dike,
Wood Tract north (lots of ducks and yellowlegs and 1 Black-necked Stilt), then
Pond Creek Marsh (which is filled with water again).
Finally I drove out Straight-Line Road to W. Franklin Road where I had lots of
Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs.
