After a cold front passed last night it was a good day for birding.
7/20 61º nw breeze - great day for a change
6:00am to 11:30am
268 slough, 1574 slough, Grassy Pond/Powell's Lake Unit, Horseshoe
Rd. slough, 268 slough again, Gentle Pond, Hardy Slough. All in
Henderson Co.
Highlights:
Double-crested cormorant: 1 at GP/PL
Green Heron 1 at GP/PL
Little blue heron (white Imm) 3 at GP/PL
Bobwhite calling at Hardy
Turkey 3
Spotted Sandpiper 4 at 268 slough
Solitary Sandpiper at HRS, 268 s, and Hardy
Lesser Yellowlegs 1 at 268 slough
Pectoral Sandpiper 1 at Horseshoe Road slough
Least Sandpiper at 268 s and HRs
Barred Owl at Gentle Pond
Willow Flycatcher at GP/PL
Orchard Oriole at Gentle Pond
Non-bird:
Doe w/Fawn
Bucks with good racks 3 together
Raccoon
