As a follow up to bpb note on Sandhill cranes in Cecilia, a good site to view
cranes in Barren County is at Beaver Creek Boat Ramp as they go on the roost or
come off the roost. I saw 22 cranes come off the roost as late at 8:30 am
yesterday morning. You have to walk about 1/8 mile through the camp ground
parking lot to get closer to the cranes. I have not found any fields where you
can just drive by the road and see them feeding during the day. Linda
