[birdky] Sandhill Cranes at Green river Lake today...

We (Zack Couch and myself) saw 135 sandhill cranes today (February 9, 2007) as
we were traveling North on KY 55 just south of Campbellsville (Gazetteer page
66, block C-5). We noticed them while traveling North on KY 55 about a tenth
of a mile or two South of the junction with 1625 & 3183, near Green River Lake
State Park.
We saw them circle about as they came over the trees. They caught thermals for
a while and were then on their way South. They came up over the trees at about
4:45-5:00 PM. We tried swinging by Green River Lake and several spots close to
where we'd seen them come over the tree line but we were unable to find any
still on the ground.
