This week has been a good one for birds migrating over the house.

9/12 Barn Swallows trickled over in small groups during the course of
several hours

9/13 adult Red-headed Woodpecker
        male Rose-breasted Grosbeak

9/14 adult Red-headed Woodpecker (2)
        Nighthawks
        Swainson's Thrushes
        lone Purple Martin

9/15 Broad-winged hawk (2)
        Great Blue heron (5)
several hawks dropped in at dusk but the light was so poor I
couldn't ID

9/16 I had the pleasure of watching, in the space of an hour, 256+
Broad-winged hawks go over and to the west of the house – from single
birds to groups of 30 birds. Most were headed southwest and flying
fairly high.
