I had a lunch date with my wife on Friday and decided to head on out to Maine Chance Farm (Lexington) after she went back to work to test out the BirdLog app that I just purchased. I found it pretty easy to use. I had been using a voice recorder to record sightings as I went along, but this required some work at home to tally everything up. With the app, it kept a running total and and I was able to submit the list to ebird as I was leaving the park. I also used a GPS app that kept track of my time and distance so I did not have to estimate these and the BirdLog app automatically notes start time. Good combination. As for birds, still seeing a few Cackling Geese mixed in with the Canada and had one Am Tree Sparrow along the side of the road.
