After my last post I had a few questions about recording bird songs with a
smartphone. I ran across the following article from the Cornell Lab and decided
to give it try. I was very happy with how easy it is and at how good a
recording you can get with just a phone. Give it a go and start including a a
few recordings along with those photos to your eBird reports. It also is a
great tool to help improve your birding by ear skills. It is also a good
alternative to a photo as "proof" of a species if you can't get a photo or
don't have or carry a camera all the time.
