Checked a few spots this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find the McCracken co. Spotted Towhee again present for the third year in row. This bird was observed at the exact same location as previous years on Bethel Church Road in the fencerow immediately to the right of the pull off. Most expected common sparrows were found in the adjacent fields and I was able to hear a very late dickcissel. From here I checked a few spots in Ballard county where about 6 species of common dabblers were observed on the front slough and at least 100, if not several hundred, Wilson's snipe in a cut corn field near the refuge. A least sandpiper was also present. Scott Record Ragland KY
